Photo rejuvenation refers to therapies which are light based but are not laser treatments.

Two photo rejuvenation treatments offered at the Groot DermaSurgery Centre are the LimeLight and the Xeo Intense Pulse Light systems. The advantages are that the treatments are fast, the recovery time is short, and the risk of side effects is low. More than one treatment session is usually necessary.

The Limelight is a non-ablative treatment which targets unwanted pigment and vascularity of the skin. The advantage is that large areas of diffuse brown and red discoloration such as the arms or legs can be treated at one time.

The Xeo Intense Pulse Light system is also a non-ablative treatment which targets diffuse redness of the skin and pigmentation. It is often used in combination therapies such as the 3D Rejuvenation to achieve a synergistic benefit.
